The U.S. will send another $400 million in military aid to Ukraine, several U.S. officials said, amid fears that financial aid to Kiev could shrink slightly if Republicans take control of Congress, AP reported.

Officials said the aid package would include a large amount of ammunition as well as highly mobile Avenger air defense systems. Officials said the package includes ammunition for the highly mobile artillery rocket systems known as HIMARS, and mortars and missiles for the Hawk surface-to-air missile system.

Including the latter assistance, the U.S. has allocated more than $18.6 billion in weapons and other equipment to Ukraine.
