Turkish Foreign Ministry expresses concern over Armenia-EU-US trilateral meeting

04 Apr 2024

The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the Armenia-EU-US trilateral meeting to be held in Brussels on 5 April.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting with Armenia violates the principle of neutrality. “We once again call on third countries to pay attention to the parameters of the region when taking steps in the ongoing processes and to keep an equal distance between the sides.

This initiative, which leaves Azerbaijan out of the picture, not only does not contribute to peace but also prepares the ground for geopolitical tensions,” the statement said.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry statement also emphasized that Turkey will encourage bilateral steps aimed at assessing the historic opportunity for peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
