Moscow Police Interrupted Screening Of the Garegin Nzhdeh Movie - The US Armenians

The Union of Armenians of Russia organized a screening of the movie about Garegin Nzhdeh. However, the Moscow Police dispersed all the attendants on the grounds of the Russian Criminal Code article on the inadmissibility of the “rehabilitation of Nazism.”

The Embassy of Armenia in Russia issued a statement regarding the screening of the movie. According to the statement, the embassy closely follows the publications in the press and expresses its deep concern over the attempts to desecrate the memory of the fighter for the independence of Armenia G. Nzhdeh by certain circles interested in slandering the Armenian-Russian close relations.

In addition to these events, a well-known Russian online cinema IVI removed the movie from its platform due to Azerbaijani complaints.

A representative of the cinema informed The Union of Armenians of Russia that the official decision on the movie will be on Monday. It means that the movie was removed only at the whim of the Azerbaijanis.
