Lavrov: No Checkpoints Will Be Set Up on Lachin Corridor

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement at a joint press conference with Jeyhun Bayramov:

-The Lachin corridor should operate in conformity with the trilateral statement of Russia, Armenia & Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020, which has no provisions for any checkpoints.

-Russia confirmed its readiness to provide a platform for meetings between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.

-The functioning regime of the Lachin corridor must fully comply with the tripartite statement of November 9-10, 2020. Which means the need to ensure free movement for “exclusively civilian and humanitarian goods and civilians”.

-The EU is openly abusing relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, pushing through a monitoring mission that raises serious doubts in terms of legitimacy.
