Another storm is brewing and is expected to bring widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and gusty winds over the next 24 hours in Southern California.
The National Weather Service warns that rainfall rates could peak at 0.5 to 1 inch per hour, with mountainous and foothill areas likely to receive between 4 and 8 inches of rain in total.
This poses a high threat of dangerous flooding of roads, creeks, and streams, as well as mudslides and rockslides in steep terrain, especially near recent burn scars. In addition, gusty winds reaching 30 to 50 mph (with isolated gusts of up to 60 mph) are expected in the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
